Tony "Fingers" Naranjo / Guitar |
| Tony "Fingers" Naranjo has been playing guitar since the age of 12. He got his start in the school band and was in his first rock band "The Youngbloods" in 1975. He learned from the older cats in the neighborhood by jamming with them. Tony read a review in Guitar Player magazine way back then of Rory Gallager. Rory stated "if you want to play like Rory listen to Rory. If you want to know where Rory gets his style from, listern to Big Bill Broonzy, Muddy Waters, Lightnin Hopkins and others." So Tony began listening to the blues pioneers and he was off and running. Tony has a feel for the blues which is straight from the heart and has that "special something" that few possess. The audience feel that soulful connection. He makes his guitar go from mellow caress to make it squeel as if he was making love to a woman. The faces he makes alone express a blues possesion of authenticity. Tony has played and recorded in various groups over the years, including Thee Rythym Kings, Moonshine Bandits, The Boogiemen and countless others. Some of his influences include Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, B.B. King, and jazz cats like George Benson, Larry Coryell, and others. Tony's Interaction between the Jumpin' Jack Benny Band and the audience is truly a spirtual experience. |
